'What are we going to do?
First we have an online or telephone introductory meeting (without any obligation) in which we see if there is a click. If there is, we will have an intake interview where I analyse the situation and see in which areas of life you need help. Based on this, we set concrete coaching goals. I can come to your home if you live in Amsterdam, but you can also come to me or we can have an online conversation. A session lasts about 1-1.5 hours.

'How do you work?'
As a coach, I look which strategy fits best for each client. Generally I use motivational and solution-oriented methodology. During the sessions I listen empathetically and non-judgmentally, I ask clarifying questions, maintain an overview, challenge you, motivate you, encourage you, help you make choices and decisions, we look for solutions, provide insight and concrete tools. and encourages you to take action. We regularly evaluate progress. We also make a strength-weakness analysis and emphasise your strengths. A lot of therapies focuses on what is difficult and your complaints, but I wish to look at your strengths and expand on this. Furthermore, we look at your values and what you stand for in life, what drives and motivates you to get out of bed every day. The result of the coaching is that you experience more self-confidence, overview, balance and energy.

'What about my problems?'
Of course we will also work on your problems, which I prefer to call areas for improvement. We address these points by focusing as much as possible on your positive qualities. We will focus on this through concrete goals in each session.
We work on, among other things:
- dealing with relationships and colleagues
- dealing with (work) pressure
- strengthening and expanding your network
- stepping out of your comfort zone
- breaking bad habits and patterns
- setting boundaries
- more tranquility, less stress

- increasing resilience
- getting rid of addictions

'And what about psychological problems?'
As a basic psychologist and Mental Health Scientist (MSc), I also use psychological (therapeutic) methods, such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment therapy) because I am convinced that the first step in dealing with difficult thoughts, feelings and physical tensions is to become aware of them. These techniques are also helpful if you suffer from anxiety and/or a low mood.

'What is the advantage of a coach and a psychologist?'
While in the psychology practice they mainly emphasise on the past, the symptoms and complaints, and in coaching mainly on (practical) solutions, I combine the best of both worlds. On top of that, I am also an expert by experience.
