How do I accept my diagnosis?
How can I be myself as much as possible?
How do I deal with difficult emotions?
How do I stop camouflaging?
How do I expand my network?
How do you stop in time before you become overstimulated?

How do I keep structure in my life?
How do I be more tranquil and less stressed?
…………………………………………………….?
etc.

AskEve:

'What are we going to do?'
First we have a telephone or online introductory meeting (without any obligation) in which we see if there is a click. If there is a click, we have an intake interview where I analyse the situation and see in which areas of life you need help. We use this to set coaching goals. I can come to your home if you live in Amsterdam, but you can also come to me or we can have an online conversation. A conversation lasts about 1-1.5 hours.

'How do you work?'
As a coach, I look which strategy fits best for each client. Generally I use motivational and solution-oriented methodology. During the sessions I listen empathetically and non-judgmentally, I ask clarifying questions, maintain an overview, challenge you, motivate you, encourage you, help you make choices and decisions, we look for solutions, provide insight and concrete tools. and encourages you to take action. We also regularly evaluate progress. Regarding autism, I use specific methods from 'More tranquility and less stress with autism' by Marja Boxhoorn and 'The Essential 5' by Colette de Bruin. We also make a strength-weakness analysis and emphasise your strengths. What is important is how you can see autism as a quality instead of a limitation. A lot of coaching and therapy in autism focuses on what is difficult or your complaints, but I focus on your qualities to strengthen them. We also look at your values and what you stand for in life, what drives and motivates you to get out of bed every day. The result of the coaching is more self-confidence, overview, tranquility and energy.

'What about my problems?'
Of course we will also work on your problems, which I prefer to call areas for improvement. We address these points by basing as much as possible on your positive aspects. We will work on this with concrete goals in each session.
We work on, among other things:
- switching between tasks
- supporting or increasing network
- activation / stepping out of your comfort zone

- psychoeducation

- acceptance of diagnosis

- dealing well with changes
- setting boundaries

- breaking bad habits and patterns
- more tranquility, less stress
- better dealing with overstimulation and being overwhelmed
- daily routine and planning
- relationships, colleagues and social gatherings
- increasing resilience
I can also practically assist you with organising your administration or accompanying you to conversations with external agencies such as the UWV or the GP.

'And what about psychological problems?'
As a basic psychologist and Mental Health Scientist (MSc), I also use psychological methods, such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment therapy) but also of Mindfulness techniques, because I am convinced that the key to a non-overstimulated life is to be in touch with yourself and to be aware of your thoughts, feelings and physical sensations/tensions. These methods are extra helpful if, in addition to autism, you also suffer from anxiety and/or a low mood.

'What is the advantage of a coach and psychologist and expert by experience?'
While in the psychology practice they mainly focus on your past, symptoms or complaints, and in coaching on (practical) solutions, in my practice I combine the best of both worlds. On top of that, I am also an expert by experience.
